Una Announces 2010 Film Festival Award Winners

FLORENCE, Ala. - A Best of Show for the Norwegian film "The Frost" was among the 14 awards presented tonight at the 2010 George Lindsey UNA Film Festival Awards Ceremony. The movie, screened in the Professional Feature Narrative category, explores a couple's collapsing marriage, haunted by the ghostly presence of their deceased young son. The 2010 Clyde Sappo Black Sweet Home Alabama Award, which honors a film shot at least partially in Alabama, went to Brad Thompson for "Collecting Chloe." "Collecting Chloe" had screened in the Shoals Spotlight category. This year's film festival also honored Dr. William G. Cale, University of North Alabama president, with a Special Golden Lion Award for his dedication to the George Lindsey UNA Film Festival. The event was founded in 1998 in part by UNA alumnus and celebrated actor and entertainer George Lindsey.
