University Of North Alabama Students Win Yeti Flw College Fishing Open And Boat

FLORENCE, Ala.- Two University of North Alabama students will now be able to add a trophy to their mantle, thanks to a recent fishing tournament win.

UNA Bass Fishing Club members Hunter McCarty and Sloan Pennington took the top spots in the March 12-13, YETI FLW College Fishing Open on Kentucky /Barkley Lake.

In addition to the trophy, both were awarded a Ranger Zl75 with a 115hp Mercury engine and matching Ranger Trail trailer. This award is to be used at the Bass Club's discretion.

UNA Bass Fishing Club advisor Jeremy Martin said both students put a lot of time in this season on and off the water preparing for the tournament.

"All this time has paid off with their most recent Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) win on Kentucky/ Barkley Lake," said Martin. "We are excited to have these two represent UNA at the 2020 YETI FLW College Fishing National Championship. I am excited to see where fishing takes these two amazing anglers."

As the winners of the qualifying open, McCarty and Pennington will now represent UNA in the 2020 YETI FLW College Fishing National Championship, where they have had success before. McCarty and Pennington won the National Championship two years ago.
