Entertainment Students Host Show To Benefit Student Scholarship Fund

FLORENCE, Ala. - The University of North Alabama Department of Entertainment Industry will host a benefit concert by three student bands at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11. The event will take place in the Mane Room at the department's new downtown instructional facility at 310 N. Pine St. Tickets for the show - a fund-raiser for the department's scholarship fund - will be $5 at the door. The concert will feature local talent from SCM Electrix, The Local Saints and Floater. SCM Electrix and The Local Saints recently participated in events related to the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas. Entertainment industry students are responsible for all aspects of Thursday night's production, from sound and lighting to marketing and public relations. The UNA Department of Entertainment Industry offers undergraduate degrees in entertainment business and technology.
